POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the VP of Operations , installs, maintains, and services material handing equipment; performs planned maintenance inspections and emergency service work for existing and new customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs material handling systems.
- Applies knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.
- Performs planned maintenance for existing and new customers; including material inspection, lubrication, minor adjustments and documentation for recommended repairs on various types of material handling equipment.
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Assists and trains other departmental technicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- 3-5 years of proven experience servicing and maintaining material handling systems.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Ability to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
- High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances.
- Proven problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and thorough understanding of mechanical systems, including material handling components and equipment.
- Ability to operate light and heavy equipment, manual tools and power tools.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in MS Office Products and using the Internet.
- Demonstrated outstanding performance in previous career.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field.
- Trade Licenses/Certifications (AWS, Electrician, etc)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Approximately 10% of the time, this position is confined to ambient room temperatures and lighting as found in a typical office environment.
The performance of this position otherwise requires exposure to extreme increased or decreased temperatures as routinely found in manufacturing and distribution environments.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel as required to support Company needs, up to 50%. Most of the travel is local to Central Florida with occasional required visits out of state.
